David Michael Roddy (born March 27, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Colorado State Rams, where he was named the Mountain West Player of the Year in 2022.

Roddy was a three-sport athlete at Breck School in Golden Valley, Minnesota, competing in basketball, football and track and field. As a senior, he averaged 29.7 points and 16.6 rebounds per game for the basketball team. Roddy was an all-state quarterback in football and won a Class A state title in the discus. He committed to play college basketball for Colorado State over offers from Minnesota, Northwestern, and other NCAA Division I programs. Before committing to college basketball, Roddy also received football scholarship offers from multiple Division I programs.

Roddy was named the Mountain West Player of the Year, as well as being named first-team All-Mountain West for the second consecutive year. As a sophomore, he averaged 15.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, and was named first-team All-Mountain West.  Roddy posted 27 points and 15 rebounds in a 78–56 victory over Boise State.

Roddy is 21 years old, which in NBA draft terms is a little on the older side. Still, Roddy’s growth as a player is evident in all area of his game as he grew from a contributor to a bonafide star during his time with the Rams.

Roddy’s footwork near the rim is also something that is poetry in motion to watch. Not only can Roddy create for his teammates with the ball in his hands, but he does a tremendous job of creating for himself with footwork that is quick as a hiccup.

David Roddy is a very good basketball player and any NBA team would be lucky to add this guy to their locker room. For the Nuggets, Roddy could provide another player who could score from the outside, rebound the basketball, and would give them some upside on the defensive end of the floor.

In the 2022 NBA draft, Roddy was drafted 23rd overall by the Philadelphia 76ers on behalf of the Memphis Grizzlies as part of a trade that sent Roddy and Danny Green to the Grizzlies in exchange for De'Anthony Melton
