Indian Premier League Auction was held in Chennai last February 18, 2021. Every franchise is anticipated to spend a minimum of 75% of its purse within the said auction. While each franchise can have a maximum of 25 players per squad and a minimum of 18 players per squad.

To all eight franchises, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Royal Challengers Banglore(RCB) are the foremost picked at the said Auction Event. However, they have to follow some strict rules and guidelines while pursuing each player. Here are the foundations that need to be followed during the last Auction.


Strictly INR 85crore was the minimum franchise for every player. No franchise is allowed to bid a player beyond their purse balance.


Furthermore, INR 85crore is the whole money allotted to be spent to every player, franchisers need to spend 75% of the quantity, when the franchise completes its squad in 70% of the cash the 5% of the balance will go on to BCCI(which is the main host for the event), KXIP, RCB, and RR.

The top-5 IPL players during the auction who break the banks:

1. Chris Morries - RS 16.25 crore (Rajasthan Royals)- after intense bidding between Royal Challengers, Mumbai India, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Banglore, Morris finally went to Rajasthan Royals for a final record of 16.25 crore.

2. Kyle Jameison - RS 15 crore (Royal Challengers Banglore) - the New Zealand all-rounder was bid 15 crores under Royal Challengers Banglore.





3. Glenn Maxwell - INR 14.25 crore (Royal Challengers Banglore) - the Australian player was the sixth-most expensive player in IPL history after he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore.




4. Jhye Richardson - INR 14 crore (Punjab Kings Squad) - was shocked with INR 14 crore during the auction for the Indian League Premier. The West Australian fast bowler Richardson was one in all the massive three Aussie winners.


5. K. Gowtham - INR9.25 crore (Chennai Super Kings) - the 32-year-old spinner Gowtham was bought under Chennai Super Kings, who incorporates a based price of Rs 20 lakh in IPL 2021 Auction.
